Sacred Heart High School - Class of '73
High school was a long long time ago, but some of my best memories from school seem like they just happened yesterday.
My graduating class was probably less than 100 girls, and after being together for seven-hours-a-day for four years, some great friendships were formed. As it tends to happen, we graduated, went to college, got married, had families, and/or got involved in our careers - and those promises of "keep in touch" that we wrote all over each other's yearbooks faded away into a whirlwind of reality.
My BFF Pat and I have stayed close after all these years (love you Pat, and missed you Saturday!), but I had lost touch with everyone else.
Several years ago, our class president Susie discovered email, and slowly found and added a number of our classmates to her distribution list. Susie regularly keeps us informed on our alma mater and each other's lives. Thank you Susie, for keeping us in touch.
Every once in a while, some of us have the opportunity to get together to catch up on each other's lives and reminisce about the good old days. Last Saturday, a group of us met for dinner at the San Antonio Winery. There were lots of hugs, giggles, and sharing of family stories and photos.
As the old saying goes,
"Make new friends, but keep the old; Those are silver, these are gold"
Thank you for the new memories Esther, Bertha, Letty, Pat, Melinda, Ida, Sandy and Susie! I can't wait to see you all again!
